I took a long needed break today to check out the first big snow on Mt. LeConte, which is located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park in Eastern Tennessee.  It was an incredible 10 mile roundtrip hike via Alum Cave trail.

We met up with Tiffany & Michael at the Historic Scott Mansion to go over finial details for tomorrows wedding.  These two are going to be a lot of fun to work with & we can’t wait to get started in the morning.  The Scott Mansion is a beautiful historical southern style plantation home located east of Athens in Tellico Plains, Tennessee.  Jonathan & Brooke did an amazing restoration to this bed & breakfast home and we look forward to working with them.

Short on day light we hiked up to the Greenbrier Trail (3.1 miles) via Laurel Falls trail head located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.  Once passed Laurel Falls (1.3 miles) it’s really a nice short day hike.  As almost no one hikes pasted Laurel Falls.  At the 2.5 mile mark you will find yourself surrounded with huge virgin timber that I don’t think you could even wrap your whole body around.  A note of warning… this area is very active bear country.  I find myself coming across young bears 2 out of 3 times during even hikes.

Beautiful Fall foliage highlighted by the evening sun just south of Laurel Falls.
