Destination weddings are becoming more of a common trend than in years past. Offering the bride and groom endless amounts of options that they may not normally have back home. Shooting a day-after photography session is one of our favorite destination wedding options for the newly married couple! This past July we photographed Alana & Evin’s beautiful destination wedding overlooking the Atlantic ocean in Searsport, Maine & we followed it with a day-after session the next day! As Southeastern Maine has one of the most beautiful New England coastlines to photograph with several historic locations throughout the region. We knew Alana & Evin were going to have an amazing day.
The first stop for our amazing day was the historic Nubble Lighthouse in York, Maine. It doesn’t take long to understand why this is the most photographed lighthouse on the east coast. We were just able to get a short shoot in before the heavy crowds took over for the day.

In our travels this summer we found ourselves crossing the Penobscot Narrows bridge on our way to Bar Harbor, Maine. I took this shot as I drove over the bridge not knowing if I had captured a good image or not. Once viewed… the title “Heaven’s Gate” was a must!!!

Penobscot Narrows Bridge & Observatory is a cable-stayed bridge over the Penobscot River in Prospect, Maine. The engineering innovations that was build into this bridge helped it appear in the Dec. 2006 edition of Popular Science as one of the 100 best innovations of the year. The Observatory within the bridge is the first bridge observation tower in the U.S. and the tallest public bridge observatory in the world.

This amazing late evening wedding took place at Harborside Hotel & Marina overlooking Frenchman’s Bay located in Bar Harbor, Maine. Few wedding venues can offer such beautiful grounds over looking a bay in Northern Maine such as this. Harborside Hotel staff are the pinnacle of world class service.
This past weekend we were in Old Orchard Beach, Maine for the intimate destination wedding of Meaghan & Mike. As rain was all around and to prevent any delays… the ceremony was moved into the Grande Room at Dunegrass Golf Club. As the rain never came… the celebration was moved back outdoors to the beautiful grounds for cocktail hour and an intimate photography session away from the guest.

A trip to Maine would not be complete unless we stopped over at the Huge LL Bean store in Freeport, ME. It’s a toy store like no other.
